It could have been a rapper,
A true barnyard superstar.
Maybe a feathered hero.
It could have gone so far.

This could have been a chick
Who went on to poultry fame.
Every hen in this world
Might have known this chicken’s name.

Mom says, “Quit daydreaming.
You’re going to make us late.”
I guess I’ll stop thinking
About this egg on my plate.
