Wake Up, Turtle

If any of you happen to know,
Please be so kind as to show
How to get this turtle to go.

I’m not happy to have to tell
My racing turtle’s not racing so well.
His legs are still up in his shell!

I’ve tried every single trick I know,
This dang turtle just won’t go!
Right now, I’d be happy with slow.

All of my dreams of winning are past.
It’s not that this turtle is simply not fast.
He has actually snoozed his way into last!
