I’m King
I glide through alleys and
Chase mice in the barn.
In the house, I wrestle
With a ball of yarn.
Mom and dad go to work.
The kids go off to school.
Over all the other pets,
I am left to rule.
The bird stays in its cage.
The fish stays in its bowl.
When I’m left in charge,
The mouse stays in its hole.
I’ve seen dogs with sweaters
And a monkey with a hat.
Don’t try that stuff with me;
I’ve got pride, I’m King Cat!
